HOW IT ALL STARTED
My hair journey started around the age of eight, I was truly fascinated by the skills of our neighbourhood hair stylist. At the time it seemed to me like magic, it was like watching an artist at work. Quite often, when I came home from school, I would find her sitting under the tree outside, doing one of her clients' hair. I remember begging her to let me help and I remember being told off by my mum a few times for not having completed my homework instead.
THE JOURNEY
Over the years my love for hair styling grew stronger, I would practice my skills on family, friends, neighbours, church members, friends at college and slowly but surely got better and better at it.
At university, even though I had a part time customer service job, I remember walking past a salon with friends and one of them insisted that I go in and apply. I ended up working both jobs which meant that I was under a lot of pressure with university work. With deadlines looming, I was almost at my breaking point, I remember a colleague who was also a close friend, saw how stressful it all was and asked why I was stressing about university, he said "you're really good with hair, and I see how much passion you have for it, why don't you concentrate on that and do it full time" my reaction at the time was shock, then hurt. I thought "he knows how important graduating is to me, how could he? I wasn't opened minded enough to see that he was right.
THE SALON
Today, with over 20 years experience and 10 years after my friend's comment, I have my first hair salon, styling qualifications, and product lines. I have learned the importance of appreciating the true beauty of building a relationship with your hair. We currently have three talented hairdressers and a makeup artist, with plans of expanding.
THE BRAND
I started this brand because I felt that it was time to share with women, especially black women who were never taught to appreciate the importance of having and maintaining healthy hair, how to grow, maintain, love, embrace and appreciate their hair.

ALL WE CARE ABOUT IS THAT YOUR HAIR IS HEALTHY!
We encourage you to be unapologetically yourself, always. We want you to embrace all of what makes you, YOU!. We want you to have the option to do whatever you would like with your hair, without compromising its health. So short hair or long, curly or straight, do what you would like without fear or guilt, we want you to walk out of the salon feeling confident and ready to take on the world.
